Mahesh Babu with Trivikram has been a successful combination in the past. There has been heavy hype for the movie Guntur Kaaram from the announcement.
But how is the output of the movie. Let’s dive into the review.
Guntur Kaaram Story
Vasundhara (Ramya Krishnan) is married to Royal Satyam (Jayaram) and has a son, Ramana (Mahesh Babu). Vasundhara decides to leave her son after her husband wrongly accused of murder and goes to jail.
As she goes back to her father’s house, the Ramana grows alone, longing for the love of his mother.
After 25 years, Vasundhara now remarried and a prominent politician do not want Ramana to interfer with her political career.
So, she on the advice of her father asks Ramana to withdraw his benefits of legal heir to vasundhara.
The rest of the story revolves around Ramana as he tries to reconnect with his mother.
Guntur Kaaram Review
Mahesh Babu did an excellent job at owning his role. And is one of his best performances in his career.
Even with Mahesh Babu‘s outstanding performance and insightful dialogue, “Guntur Kaaram” is a mediocre film due to its dull plot, squandered characters, and uninspired soundtrack.
To a certain degree, fans might like it, but it falls short of the expectations set by the actor and director’s prior works together.
With a predictable and stale storyline, Trivikram doesn’t offer anything new and disappoints the general audiences.
Performances
Mahesh Babu has done a spectacular job and lived a character. This is the best we have seen from Mahesh Babu and his screen presence is stunning.
Sreeleela‘s character is underwritten and looks unnecessary script wise. Apart from the dance performance, there is no other scope for her role.
Other actors are got a little or no role as the movie solely belives the Mahesh Babu alone can lift the movie.
Technical Aspects
Trivikram given his track in the past has let down his audience completely. Guntur Kaaram misses out magical screenplay you would expect from him.
Thaman‘s music is good and adds or reduces nothing to the story and screeenplay.
Cinematography is the only saving grace for the film, but without anything to support in the screenplay it feels wasted.
Conclusion
Guntur Kaaram is Mahesh Babu‘s one man show. If you are a Mahesh Babu fan you can watch it for the swag of the star.
But nothing more to watch in the movie to marvel at.
