So, the film has everything to become a cult film in India. But, whether it is lived up to its expectations and good enough to satisfy the audience to become a real pioneer. Read our detailed review below.
Story
The movie plot starts with the murder convict in prison for 25 years. Here Krishna (Ajay Devgn) who is convicted of double murder gets parole for his good behavior.
The parallel screenplay shows young Krishna’s (Shantanu Maheshwari) love life with Vasudha (Saiee Manjrekar). Thus, when he is released, he returns to his old home and tries to connect with people who are not accustomed to.
But the reason for the crime he committed is revealed later on the movie.
The remaining part of the movie is about Krishna and Vasudha (Tabu) gets reconnecting as the latter is also married now.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Review
This is not an action-packed movie like we have seen from Ajay Devgn in recent times. The movie is slow and brings each act in a paced manner to make the audience connect with the story and characters.
Though the premises are good for an epic love drama, the movie attracts to garner attention from the audience throughout.
For the most part, you could guess the next act and even the scene ahead. The screenplay could have been better to make the audience interesting.
The core of the movie is about a selfless hero who sacrifices his life for love. But, like the entire plot is predictable and does not provide anything new.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha does not look afresh and looks like a makeover of several movies. Though love stories have the same base, there should be a uniqueness to the screenplay to make the movie interesting.
But Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha fails to do this in its runtime. The movie is watchable for the stardom and the acting of the established actors.
Performance
Ajay Devgn gives a subtle and powerful performance as a Krishna and easily pulls off emotional scenes. Though we have seen a variety of films in the past, this one suits him well.
Tabu gives a decent performance to the pair in the later part of the film creating magic with their chemistry on screen.
Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar reprising the duo’s younger selves give a prominent performance.
Jimmy Shergill as Vasudha’s husband though comes for a short time in the movie has done well.
Technical Aspects
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has a great team supporting the story and screenplay providing what is needed from them.
The cinematography by Sudheer Palsane is pleasant. The movie does well in all the departments to have a free flow of screenplay.
M. M. Kreem’s music supports the movie well. Also, songs have good vibes for the audience.
Conclusion
This is a feel-good movie that could have been better had they concentrated more on the screenplay.
Neeraj Pandey gives a movie that falls well short of a good film. The screenplay lets everything good in this film down.
But the only saving grace is Ajay Devgn who with his charisma gives an effortless performance. Thus, the movie is watchable because of him.
